Irish Cream, Home Made #2

3 eggs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pint whipping cream
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
2 drops coconut syrup
1 cup vodka
1/2 cup brandy

Mix all ingredients in a blender until well stirred. Consume within two weeks. Some ingredients are perishable. Store in an airtight container so you can shake it before each use. The chocolate settles at the bottom.

Blood of the Innocent

12 oz Hawaiian punch
2 oz vodka

Pour hawaiian punch into a 12 oz highball glass. Take a gulp/mouthful, and fill the rest of the glass with vodka. Alter the proportions if you prefer a stronger bite.

Dogs Bollocks

7 oz melon vodka
12 oz lager
2 dashes lime juice

Pour in the vodka first and then proceed to pour the beer on top.

Vodkatini

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml Vodka
  • 10 ml dry Vermouth
  • Ice
Method:
  1. Fill a mixing glass two-thirds full with ice.
  2. Pour in the ingredients.
  3. Stir gently for about 10 seconds until the ingredients are cold.
  4. Strain into the chilled cocktail glass.

Tip: Keep vodka in the freezer for best results.

Black Russian

Ingredients:

  • Ice cubes
  • 45 ml Vodka
  • 25 ml Kahlua/Tia Maria
Method:
  1. Pour vodka and kahlua/tia Maria into the rocks glass, passing them over the ice, then stir.

Tip: To counter alcohol’s diuretic effect drink plenty of non alcoholic fluids, water or fruit juices. Do not drink coffee as that is also a diuretic.

Melon Ball

Ingredients:

  • Cracked ice
  • 50 ml Midori
  • 50 ml Vodka
  • 50 ml Orange juice plus extra to top up
  • Orange slices and small Banana balls to decorate
Method:
  1. Put some crushed ice in each of two tall glasses or goblets.
  2. Pour the vodka, midori and orange juice into a cocktail shaker. Shake well to mix, then strain into the glasses.
  3. Top up with more orange juice if necessary.
  4. Decorate with the fruit and serve with a straw.

Tip: Always use smaller sized ice cubes when making a cocktail. This creates a smoother taste by allowing a proper mix of water and alcohol, since they melt faster when the alcohol is poured over them.

Iced Lemon and Mint Vodka

Ingredients:

  • Ice cubes
  • 4 tbsps Lemon juice
  • 125 ml chilled Vodka
  • 125 ml Lemon cordial
  • Tonic Water, to top up
  • A few mint sprigs to decorate
Method:
  1. Pour the lemon juice, lemon cordial and chilled vodka into a cocktail shaker and shake well.
  2. Pour into 6 tall glasses half-filled with ice cubes.
  3. Top up with tonic water, add a few mint sprigs and serve immediately.

Tip: Always use smaller sized ice cubes when making a cocktail. This creates a smoother taste by allowing a proper mix of water and alcohol, since they melt faster when the alcohol is poured over them.

Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • Slice of Lime
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • Top with chilled Ginger Beer or Dry Ginger ale
Method:
  1. Stir the vodka and lime juice in a Highball glass half-filled with ice.
  2. Top up with ginger beer or dry ginger ale.
  3. Decorate with a slice of lime.

Tip: Rinse your shot glass frequently. Liquors can taint each other or cloud your drink.

Snapdragon

Ingredients:

  • Ice cubes
  • 200 ml Vodka
  • Soda water to top up
  • Mint sprigs, to decorate
  • 475 ml Green Crème de Menthe
Method:
  1. Fill four highball glasses with ice cubes.
  2. Divide the vodka and crème de menthe among the glasses and stir.
  3. Top up with soda water. Decorate each drink with a mint sprig.

Tip: To rim a cocktail glass with sugar or salt, run a piece of lemon or lime around the edge and dip in salt or sugar.

Golden Russian

Ingredients:

  • 30 ml Galliano
  • 37.50 ml Vodka
  • 30 ml Half and Half
Method:
  1. Simply pour the ingredients into the rocks glass, passing them over the ice.
  2. Then stir and serve.
